At 11:30 p.m., a message from the president, Luis Arce, was officially announced.which will be broadcast on the state channel. The announcement comes a few hours after Santa Cruz experienced a violent day of protests for and against the indefinite strike carried out by that department.
Around 10:00 p.m., the top executive of the Central Obrera Boliviana (COB), Juan Carlos Huarachi, had called for a “heavy hand” for what happened against those responsible and also demanded the declaration of a state of exception in the department of Santa Cruz.
Shortly after, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Jerges Mercado, offered a press conference in which he revealed agreements with the regional leadership and that the violence this Friday was sabotaging that process. He also said that the application of the results had already been agreed of the census in September 2024, as requested by the mobilized.
