Bolivian President Luis Arce once again resorted to a televised address to Evo Morales and the marchers who left Caracollo six days ago. On this occasion, Arce, together with Vice President David Choquehuanca, reiterated dialogue as the path and accepted the invitation of the Ombudsman to hold the meeting.
“TOWe accept the call of the Ombudsman and Let’s talk without conditions“the president said during his speech. It is the third time he has called him to dialogue in a week.
On this occasion, Arce opened the call to “you (Evo Morales) already a delegation of those who accompany you” with the aim of discussing the points that motivated the march. However, he clarifies that they had already responded “in writing” to those points at the time.
Before referring to the dialogue, Arce gave his own view on the tension that is being experienced in the country. He asked Evo Morales to be governed according to the current legal regulations and put aside violent behavior.
“The most correct thing would be for you to respect the Political Constitution of the State that you yourself approved,” he reminded him. And, immediately, he stressed “however, your actions go in the opposite direction (of what the CPE establishes) for several years.”
For the president, the march led by Morales “demonstrates its clear and precise political objectives such as “call for early elections” and, therefore, the overthrow of his mandate.
Arce described the march as violent and blamed groups close to Evo Morales for the incidents that occurred this afternoon in the Arcista council of La Ventilla, in El Alto.
He recalled the request of some spokesmen who support Morales in the brand. In their statements, these spokesmen “e“It conceals a political position of sedition that no government would tolerate.”
Still, Arce reiterates that “nOur government insists on the call for dialogue” to “find paths to peaceful resolution” of conflicts despite differences.”
Beyond the requests for dialogue, Arce also showed a critical side when evaluating Morales’ current behavior. His actions demonstrate, “a ambition power staff which is disguised as a non-existent concern for the problems of the people.”
In recent days, Morales chose to ignore the invitation to dialogue and ask Let President Arce and his cabinet be the ones to arrive at the march to meet the demands of those mobilized.
“Regarding your three conditions for opening dialogue, I respond clearly that with this you are only seeking to establish a sincere dialogue and prioritize confrontation between the people, do not continue making excuses. On the other hand, historically… You never went to meet a march to dialogue, “Why are you asking for this to be the setting for dialogue today? You know that, deep down, this attitude rules out the possibility of dialogue,” Arce said.
