In a solemn military ceremony held in the stop field of the Naval School of Cadets “Almirante Padilla” in Cartagena, The relief of the Commander of the Arc School “Gloria” was carried out.

THE ARC SCHOOL “GLORIA” It has been a symbol of the Colombian Navy and a floating ambassador of the nation. Throughout its history, he has traveled the seas of the world, visiting ports on all continents and oceans of the planet. In his last cruise, the arc “Gloria” toured more than 19 thousand nautical miles and visited 10 international portsin countries such as Germany, the United States, France, Italy, England, Sweden and Portugal.
This journey was key not only for the formation of future officers and non -commissioned officers of the Navy, but also to promote Colombian culture, values and traditions in the global field.

Currently, the ARC ‘Gloria’ is in a maintenance process as part of its decenal plan, with the aim of prolonging its useful life and improving its training capabilities.
This maintenance process will be extended until June 20, 2025, when training will resume. His first cruise of this new phase will be carried out with the Grumetes of the Naval School of Petty Officers Arc “Barranquilla”, which will depart from Santa Marta, where they will participate in the commemorative events of the 500 years of the city’s foundation. Subsequently, the ship will continue with its cadet cruise of the Naval School “Almirante Padilla”.
For the captain of the ship, Luis Fernando Lara Cogollo, assuming the leadership of the ARC “Gloria” is an honor and a great responsibility.
“The ‘Gloria’ is not only a navy bulwark, but also a floating school that prepares new generations of sailors, instilling leadership values, teamwork and resilience. It is a privilege to continue with this tradition of excellence that ‘Gloria’ has maintained for more than five decades, ”said the new commander.
With this relief of command, the Arc School “Gloria” ship continues in its mission of being a reference for international training, culture and projection for the Colombian Navy.
