The Government of Aragua issued a statement through its account instagram to mourn the death of a five-year-old boy and the injuries caused to five people after a Saman tree fell on the roof of the Lucky Café restaurant, located within the facilities of the “Las Delicias Zoological Park” (Maracay) , which has been closed to the public since 2015 due to renovations, when Tarek El Aissami was governor of this entity.
Around 6:00 pm on Friday, February 3, an old Saman tree fell from its roots and fell on the roof of the cafe-restaurant, causing the death of the child Víctor Manuel Mora, who died minutes after entering the Central Hospital. from Maracay.
The injured were identified as Mayra Mora, 18 years old; Rodrigo Aguilar, 26 years old; Jean Cabeza, 41; Lorange Colmenárez, 44 years old; and Ingrid Calzadilla, 41 years old. Colmenárez and Calzadilla are journalists from the Government of Aragua.

All the injured were treated at the Central Hospital of Maracay and released, except Ingrid Calzadilla, president of the Fundación Ciudad Maracay, who will undergo surgery for the injuries suffered.
Despite the fact that the zoo has been closed since 2015, the restaurant called Lucky Café operated within the premises. After the accident, the place’s Instagram account was set to private and all its posts were deleted.
