More than two years ago a tough debate began, including protests in the streets, on the decriminalization of abortion, this Monday the Court approved it.

- Against: Cristina Pardo, Jorge E. Ibáñez, Paola Meneses and Gloria Ortiz
After 24 weeks, the abortion will be based on the three causes that the Court defined in 2006.

It should be remembered that in Colombia abortion is decriminalized on three grounds and is recognized as a human right according to Judgment C-355 of 2006.
More than 45 social organizations of human rights, women, feminists and around 60 activists, health service providers and providers, members of the academy and research centers from all over Colombia, came together in 2020 to achieve the elimination of the crime of abortion of the Penal Code.
