Approved in first discussion Venezuela-San Vicente Air Service Law

The National Assembly (AN) approved this Tuesday in first discussion the Approval Law of the Air Service between Venezuela and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, whose purpose is to ratify the principles of international cooperation with flights between both nations.

The first vice president of the Permanent Commission on Foreign Policy, Sovereignty and Integration, deputy Ilenia Medina (PPT/National), reported that the 25-article regulation, drafted within the framework of the international legal system, seeks to strengthen commercial exchange and the ties of brotherhood among Caribbean nations.

He added that the law highlights the Convention on International Civil Aviation, which in article 6 provides that no regular air service may operate over a territory without the permission or special agreement with a certain State.

He emphasized that with this agreement unfortunate and reprehensible events will be avoided, such as the hijacking of the Emtrasur plane and the Venezuelan crew in the Ezeiz International Airporta, Argentina, last June.

The Foreign Policy and Integration Commission of the National Assembly prepared a bill that this Tuesday was presented in plenary with the

Law approving the Air Services Agreement between Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela signed on April 26, 2022, is a sign of the unity of both peoples, of that dignity for which we must fight.

“This Law ratifies the principles of cooperation within the framework of international air law and cooperation, of the principle of reciprocity and non-interference, of sovereignty and fraternity,” said the deputy.

The approval was sent to the Foreign Policy Commission, entity that will prepare the respective report for the second discussion in the Plenary Chamber.
