Approved in first discussion Law that regulates the name and effigy of Bolívar

This Tuesday, in an ordinary session of the National Assembly (AN), the Bill that regulates the use of the name, titles and effigy of the Liberator Simon Bolivar.

Deputy Rodbexa Poleo, in charge of the presentation, explained that, among other things, the initiative seeks to ensure that “never again is there a Venezuelan or foreigner who disrespects the memory of the Liberator.”

The president of the National Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, ordered that the project be sent to the AN Defense Commission to submit the corresponding report for debate throughout the national territory.

For his part, deputy José Gregorio Correa stressed that it is impossible not to agree on a law that highlights Bolívar. “We all agree that the father of the country deserves this tribute and many more,” he said.

The bill must now go to public discussion to make the substantive debates of the law, added the president of the Standing Commission Comprehensive Social Development, Pedro Infante.

Deputy Ramón Magallanes added that this law will allow the Venezuelan people and institutions to continue honoring the Liberator, due to his significance for the independence of the Republic.
