This Tuesday, the Law Project for the Decoration of the Order of the Great Cacique Guaicaipuro “Guapotori Guaicaipuro” was approved in the ordinary session of the National Assembly (AN).
During the debate, the president of the Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, expressed that with this approval an act of justice is being done.
«Once the Law that governs the decoration has been approved, it is declared sanctioned and sent to the Executive for the purpose of its promulgation. Prior to the approval, two work tables were set up to collect the opinions and proposals that the interested parties offered in order to nurture the legal text that contains 17 articles.
With this law it seeks to vindicate the struggle of the aboriginal leader, who was a victim of the Spanish colony. The legal proposal gains greater strength because it is expected to exalt and deepen the values and principles of the Venezuelan ancestors.
This Draft Law on the Order of the Grand Cacique Guaicaipuro Award seeks to reward citizens for their services to science, culture, art and for strengthening the integral development of the nation.
