The National Assembly (AN) approved this Thursday, by an evident majority, the draft agreement to commemorate the 31st anniversary of the Civic-Military Rebellion of the February 4, 1992.
The project was presented by the deputy Jesús Suárez Chourio, who stressed that the events recorded on February 27 and 28, 1992 gave way to the great revolution of February 4, which was led by Commander Hugo Chávez.
“The Caracazo was the key that started the engine of the 4F to launch the military rebellion, to put the Zamora operation into practice,” he said during his speech in Parliament.
In statements broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, the parliamentarian stressed that the flags that were raised that February 4 were consolidated 31 years later, with Socialism of the 21st Century.
«Today, 31 years later, we find ourselves, 31 years of revolution, 31 years of social justice, 31 years of homeland, of the name of the people, 31 years of peace, and beyond, 31 years of infinite love that is consolidated in the socialism of the 21st century, and the re-foundation of the Republic (…) We have peace in revolution”, he emphasized.
“It is the people, it is the love of the people, who knee on the ground, faithful to the Bolivarian thought, to the love of Hugo Chávez, the people have made it possible for us to continue having a homeland,” he added.
Political debate
For his part, Deputy Saúl Ortega called for the doors to be opened for political debate, and to strengthen social actions, so that the causes that generated the 4F rebellion do not happen again.
“February 4 has been acquitted by history, the Venezuelan people gave their blessing to Commander Chávez and comrades in rebellion,” he added.
During the session, the parliamentarians agreed to recognize the national historical memory of the patriotic, military and Bolivarian date that was under the leadership of Commander Hugo Chávez.
In the same way, it was agreed to extol the courage and dedication of the civilian men and women who participated in this feat, and who gave their lives for freedom, democracy, equality and social justice.
Also, it was agreed to reiterate from the AN the willingness to defend the destiny of the country, elevating to the maximum the values and principles that impregnated the Bolivarian youth of February 4, 1992.
