Approval of governors improves in September

The average approval of governors in Mexico increased from 50% last August to 50.7% in September, the highest figure for 2025.

According to the “Mitofsky Chapter Ranking: governors of Mexico on citizen approval”, there are 21 leaders with high approval, that is, above 50 points and 11 with an average endorsement that ranges from more than 40 to less than 50.

For this month, Mara Lezama, governor of Quintana Roo, topped the list with 57.7%, followed by Ricardo Gallardo from San Luis Potosí with 54.8 and Tere Jiménez, from Aguascalientes with 54.4 percent.

While Víctor Castro, from Baja California Sur, David Monreal, from Zacatecas and Javier May, from Tabasco were the leaders with the lowest approval score with 45.3, 45.2 and 42.3% respectively.

On the other hand, the 24 governors supporting the official party registered 50.2% approval, while the eight opposition governors had 52.2 percent.

Methodological note: Survey conducted among 62,403 Mexicans over 18 years of age with smart mobile devices with Internet access.
