Approval of Domain Extinction Law cannot be postponed

The spokesman for the block of deputies of the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Julio Fulcar, affirmed this Friday that the approval of the Domain Extinction Law cannot be postponed and said that the piece is a commitment of President Luís Abinader.

He assured that the political will will prevail against the apathy of the opposition for the approval of a new legislation that guarantees to establish the civil confiscation of patrimony with illicit origins to return it to the public treasury.

Fulcar said that after the piece slept an eternal sleep in the National Congress, for more than two decades, in previous governments “we are finally going to have a Domain Extinction Law in the Dominican Republic.”

Through his twitter account, the legislator declared that the block of Deputies of the PRM will vote in favor of the initiative and will guarantee its approval; “And the people will be able to observe who really opposes it, out of fear or for other reasons,” the congressman pointed out.

ABA endorses the piece

Yesterday the Association of Multiple Banks of the Dominican Republic (ABA) requested the approval of the initiative because it constitutes an important tool to attack corruption in the country.

The entity maintained that the Domain Forfeiture Law will guarantee legal certainty over the real, personal or any other right that has been registered by a third party over the property subject to domain forfeiture.
