Application of the Private Aviation Protocol begins at the Juan Bosch-Samaná airport

El Protocolo para la Aviación Privada No Comercial fue aprobado por el gabinete de turismo que preside el presidente Luis Abinader, el pasado 6 de abril.

Samana. – The Airport Department (DA) in conjunction with sector agencies and airport operators, began this Thursday the implementation of the Private Non-Commercial Aviation Protocol in the Dominican Republic.

“This protocol that we are starting to implement is the result of a vision that our President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, has of promoting non-commercial private aviation and that allows us to be a benchmark in the entire region,” said Víctor Pichardo, executive director of the DA.

The implementation of this procedures manual was carried out with an act at the Presidente Juan Bosch International Airport (El Catey), in Samaná, where Pichardo also pointed out that the objective is for the country and the world to know that the Dominican Republic already has with this tool.

“Our main mission is that this Protocol for the Management of Private Non-Commercial Aviation, which we are implementing today from the Juan Bosch International Airport, El Catey, and which simultaneously begins its implementation in all airports in the Dominican Republic, makes us the power of private aviation in the Caribbean”.

Meanwhile, the director of the Information and Joint Coordination Center of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), Colonel Rafael Morales, stressed that they are committed to complying with this protocol, since it will improve the development of private air operations.

“The objective is to offer another face to tourism in this line and I am sure that after the work carried out for several months, we have achieved it”

This commitment was also expressed by the other institutions involved, such as the General Directorate of Migration, represented by Lianny Vásquez; the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), by Melvin Tutela, and the General Directorate of Customs (DGA), in the person of Robert Contreras.

In addition, the Specialized Corps of Port Security and Civil Aviation (CESAC), represented by Colonel Wilfredo Candelario, and the direction of the Juan Bosch International Airport, headed by Carlos Rodolí, who also represented the Dominican Airports company at the event. XXI century (AERODOM).

This protocol establishes the guidelines for the reception and departure of general aviation aircraft from the country, with the greatest clarity, efficiency, transparency and speed that are required to provide a world-class service.

The Protocol for Private Non-Commercial Aviation was approved by the tourism cabinet chaired by President Luis Abinader, on April 6. Since the date, the Airport Department has been preparing a staff specialized in Private Non-Commercial Aviation, to comply with this mandate.
