The designation of Apepista Susana Paredes in the National Superintendence of Higher University Education (SUENEDU) begins to bear fruit.
The Head of the Sunedu, Manuel Castillo, was ratified in office last Monday, the same day that Susana Paredes, militant of the César Acuña party, Alliance for Progress (APP) assumed his position.
As revealed Peru21 At the beginning of this week, on July 5, 2024 the head of the SUENEDU, Manuel Castillo, and the Minister of Education, Morgan Quero, participated in the award with the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa to César Acuña, founder of the César University Vallejo (UCV) and APP leader, who was granted by his ex -wife, the Executive President of the University of Sipán (USS), Rosa Núñez.
That same day, after the awards of Acuña, Castillo and Quero, and other authorities of Sunedu, attended a private lunch in the house of the head of the USS.
This fact was revealed by this newspaper.
Six months after those meetings, Castillo’s approach with Acuña begins to bear fruit.
Ratified with app vote
On the last Monday, Susana Paredes, professor at the UCV and APP militant, attended the SUENDU so that her appointment as a member of the Board of Directors is formalized.
That day began its first workday in that entity.
But, his appointment was highly anticipated in Sunedu.
This, because that Monday Castillo had to be ratified in the position of head of the aforementioned Superintendency.
It happens that with the appointment of walls, occupying the seventh seat of the Board of Directors that was empty until before its appointment, there was already quorum in the Board of Directors.
With the complete seats in Sunedu, the vote was then produced in the Board of Directors for the Ratification of Castillo.
Peru21 first reported that the result was five votes in favor and one against (the representative of the private universities, José Pereyra), because the decision of the head of the entity is only of a set or decision -making vote.
This is because the vote was reserved, and that was the preliminary information that transcended.
However, this Thursday Sunedu officially reported that Manuel Castillo’s designation was unanimously.
Beyond everything, the presence of walls was key to the ratification of Castillo in Sunedu.
When does the position of Castillo expire?
After being ratified Castillo in office, a new novel within the universities inspection entity begins.
What happens is that you still have to decide if Castillo will stay in office until August of this year or until February 2026.
