Santo Domingo.- The Authority Dominican Port (APORDOM) and the culture Ministry (MINC), signed this Wednesday two inter-institutional agreements in order to integrate cultural initiatives, artistic expression and promotion of values linked to art, in seaports.
The agreement contemplates that the action will be administered by APORDOM and directed, supervised and coordinated by the MINC.
The agreement was signed by Jean Luis Rodríguez, executive director of APORDOM and Milagros German, Minister of Culture. The act that took place at the headquarters of the MINC.
Government officials agreed that, for the development of said activities and projects, they must sign specific agreements in each case.
They also highlighted the positive impact that this collaboration will have for the country, all citizens, and the growth of the national economy.
Rodríguez maintained that it is the first time that an agreement has been made for these purposes, ¨with the vision of President Luis Abinader, with sister institutions that strengthen the development of the country and thus turn the Dominican Republic into the cruise hub of the Caribbean¨.
On his side, Germán stated that the document will benefit the country’s economy, ¨everything has been evaluated and analyzed, so that all tourists take part of our culture, the intention of tourism cannot be separated without revealing the soul of the people. that is visited, is represented by our culture¨.
The goal of both institutions is to share the obligation to comply with the necessary responsibilities to achieve the implementation and start-up of the joint activities or projects that are established, such as: designation of a technical committee for coordination, defining plans that require common actions, exchange of information, among others.
The agreement will serve to work together and strengthen the positioning of the country as a cultural tourist destination and promote the culture of the Dominican territory and its projection in foreign lands.
