‘Ants’ of the AAUD decide to lift the work stoppage, after reaching agreements for salary improvements

After a meeting held on Tuesday afternoon, the workers of the Urban and Home Cleaning Authority (AAUD) who remained on strike decided to lift this measure, after reaching agreements on salary adjustments.

The Director of Communication of the AAUD, Javier Ortega, expressed on Radio Panama that the well-known “little ants” delivered a list of demands, which was reviewed by the director of the entity and some other ministers who participated in the meeting, and they agreed many of the points that they were requesting, such as salary adjustments, the rapid delivery of equipment and uniforms, as well as compactor trucks.

He said that an inter-institutional technical table will be installed in which the Ministry of Health (Minsa), the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (Mitradel), the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot) are part, and the issue of the salary scale will be discussed. , the permanence of workers, supplies, etc.

Ortega referred to the last strike in which they committed to a $150 raise, of which they have already received the first $100 and on July 15 the workers are receiving the remaining $50.
