Santo Domingo.- The president of the National Transportation Consortium (Conatra), Antonio Marte, expressed today to the executive director of Intrant, Hugo Beras, that the only thing he has to do against the governing institution of the sector is the application of Law 63-17 of Mobility , Land Transport, Traffic and Road Safety.
“Today I want to tell you to vigorously apply Law 63-17, which is the only one that guarantees the transportation sector, drivers, collectors, users and owners, that this country walks in an organized manner,” said Marte and at the same time requested to the head of the Intrant to work as soon as possible with the transport corridors, with the tourist, interurban, motoconcho, and car sectors.
In a courtesy visit to Hugo Beras, Marte said that Conatra is willing to provide all the support that is required for the advancement of the transport sector and that, for the purposes, the business community that he directs is formalized in accordance with what is established by the Law 63-17.
For his part, the executive director of Intrant, stated that his entry into the institution is due to a very clear and firm task arranged and supported by President Luis Abinader for the benefit of the transport sector and citizens and “an example of that is that As soon as possible, more than 16 bus corridors will come into operation in Santo Domingo and Santiago”.
Beras recognized the work carried out by Conatra when assuming the formalization of operations in accordance with the provisions of the Law “I want to recognize and congratulate them for their willingness to continue betting on the economic evolution of the country and the development of passenger transport and collaborate in the same way with the development of tourism.
The director of the Intrant explained that “with the implementation of brokers there is no exclusion, because the Law establishes that all drivers are part of the companies created and that they can operate either as shareholder partners, drivers, supervisors, among others”, and also , pointed out that those drivers who due to age or health conditions cannot operate, are provided by law for inclusion in the social security and pension system.
“We are working and soon we will see the results of everything this Government brings in terms of Transportation” said Hugo Beras, after receiving the visit of Antonio Marte, in the company of a commission of companies and drivers affiliated with Conatra.
After his arrival at Intrant, through decree 414-22 on August 3, Hugo Beras has held work meetings for the execution of regulation, mobility and other related projects; and in the same way, he has received the visit and support of different transport companies and organizations linked to the sector.
