The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, held a meeting with the Secretary General of the United Nations Organization (UN), António Guterres, in which he reiterated the sovereign and Pacific character of Venezuela and denounced that the Bolivarian nation is the victim of an aggression through the use of military force by the United States government in the Caribbean, actions that constitute a flagrant violation of international law.
In his Telegram channel, he also reported that he met with the Secretary General of the United Nations Organization (UN), António Guterres, in which “we reaffirm the sovereignty and peace of Venezuela, a country free of illicit crops and without incidence in international drug trafficking. We appreciate the support of the Secretary General, who has affirmed that he considers us unjustified and unacceptable the military threat of the United States in the United States Caribbean, action that violates the UN letter ”.
UN must repudiate aggression against innocent peoples
The holder for the foreign relations of Venezuela urged the United Nations system to assume an active position against conflicts that affect vulnerable peoples.
“The United Nations System must reverse its inaction and not allow another criminal aggression against innocent peoples, such as the current genocide in Palestine, which would only lead to continue destroying the principles of the UN and multilateralism, already convalescent today.”
Foreign Minister Gil ratified his commitment to international dialogue mechanisms, the defense of peace and respect for international law, in line with the guidelines of the National Executive and Bolivarian diplomacy.
Collateral meetings
