throughout the Early this Saturday, we have not found a Mexican news outlet that describes the real situation of what happened in Venezuela. It is incredible that there is no official news program in the country that is aware of what is happening in the world. Unfortunately, channel 14, supposedly a channel at the service of the community, of proven impartiality and objectivity, does not cover the vision we need; the important international space has been granted to the French network France 24, which is practically Televisa, or TV Azteca.
It is difficult to access the Telesur network, the RT network in Spanish, known as Actualidad RT. This is a state-owned television news system, owned by the Russian state, based in Moscow. It was launched in 2009 with permanent operations centers in Miami, New York, and Washington. At least, the news they transmit is more attached to reality. And, not to mention the Chinese chain, it is practically banned in Mexico. We already know the American networks, such as Fox News, CNN and others, where neoliberalism is promoted more and the outrages of the American governments are excused. That’s what we have on Mexican television. They are broadcasting their news 24 hours a day with attachment to the worst lies that we already know. In short, at those early morning hours, the only news programs that covered the illegal and criminal invasion of a sovereign country, such as Venezuela, have been the American ones.
We searched all the channels and radio signals of the Public Broadcasting System of the Mexican State (SPR), and found nothing. Only some social media spaces. The Televisa and TV Azteca channels spread the worst lies. They call that “information” and they only repeated the same inaccuracies and fallacies as the United States networks. Also regrettable is the position of the only member of the blessed social networks, who broadcast almost at the same time that the events were happening, was “Campechaneando”, since his position was in favor of the United States. According to their conclusion, the culprit was President Nicolás Maduro for not surrendering to Trump and risking his people by calling on them to defend their country. The communicator has no idea what the defense of national sovereignty is.
In short, we do not have a high-level communication system. For this reason, the population is uninformed. The statement that the people already know the position of the right is not an absolute truth. The danger is latent. Without truthful and objective information, the right, the extreme right and fascism are a growing danger. We still have a long way to go to have the coverage of large information companies like the American ones. It is important to update ourselves if we want the population to be clear about what is happening in the country and in the world. The Mexican national broadcasting system must be thoroughly implemented.
On the other hand, not only has the lack of prompt and objective information played a detrimental role in the formation of public opinion in our country and in the world. The shameful role that the UN has played is already intolerable. This organization has become a protective shield from the worst maneuvers of the worst rulers of neocolonialist, predatory and pseudo-democratic countries. Antonio Guterres has not been able nor willing to fulfill his role as conciliator, sentinel of world peace and promoter of cordiality between nations. Their role, rather, has been complicit in the worst decisions made by countries that abuse the most vulnerable. Colonialism at its finest. His calls are so ridiculous and fallacious that we cannot call him anything more than a complicit hypocritical secretary.
As if it were anything, he declares a “dangerous precedent” when the buccaneering history of all US governments, Republican and Democratic, is already more than known. They are the same garbage. The Trump government’s absolute violation of all international laws of respect between nations is a criminal act, it is not an act of defense of the sovereignty of the United States. It’s a crime.
The recent capture of Nicolás Maduro by US forces has generated an important change in Venezuelan politics, but they will continue to defend their nation. Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, have been transferred to New York to face charges of “narcoterrorism” and illegal possession of weapons. The international community has reacted in various ways: Mexico has condemned it, Brazil has called it unacceptable, Australia has called for a peaceful transition, and Russia and China consider it an intervention. And this is the reality. It is a totally reprehensible, unacceptable and criminal intervention. The small anti-patriotic Venezuelan groups are already rubbing their hands, making happy accounts of the country that, now according to them, it is their responsibility to lead. The assault on power does not give them legitimacy. Nobody has voted for them. They have committed treason against their country.
