The presidential candidate and president of the Alianza del Lápiz party, Antonio Ecarri, was received on Thursday, April 27, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, José Manuel Albares, to talk about Venezuela.
Ecarri was at the meeting together with the deputies of the National Assembly elected in December 2020 Timoteo Zambrano, president of Cambiemos, and Luis Augusto Romero, who is also general secretary of Avanzada Progresista; while Albares appeared at the meeting together with Juan Fernández Trigo, Secretary of State for Ibero-America and the Caribbean of Spain and representative of his country at the recent international conference on Venezuela,
There, the Venezuelan politicians discussed the need for the economic and social issues of the country to be prioritized in any dialogue that is generated “above partisan interests,” said the also president of the Casa Arturo Uslar Pietri.

He explained that Albares has shown sensitivity and interest in the Venezuelan situation.
Other topics they discussed were migration, the diaspora and social care for citizens; They also spoke about the recognition that should be given to “national political plurality” in international spaces, since in Venezuela “there is a new photo” and all sectors must participate in a dialogue to find solutions to the national crisis. .
Ecarri, Zambrano and Romero announced that this meeting is part of an international agenda that they will develop in order to try to give answers to the most vulnerable, says a press release.
He clarifies, on the other hand, that there is a project to create a platform in which everyone is integrated, including dissidents from the ruling party.
«We are forming it with people who come from both poles. We want to make the country plural, that there are not only two blocks. The country must be depolarized. It is the only way out of the crisis in which we are immersed,” he told the newspaper The country.

The position of the political leader of Alianza del Lápiz has been reiterated several times by him, since he considers that only one sector of the opposition is represented on the platform of Mexico and therefore asks that the spectrum be broadened to listen to more opinions. The way he is, he warns him, it will be a new failure.
This platform that Ecarri promulgates has the provisional name of the Independent Pact for Popular Change in which, apparently, he has already talked with the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) to integrate it.
He April 25th, During an interview, he also highlighted that there are no longer just two political blocs in the country, but that there are at least three that range from those who support Maduro’s management; going through all the opponents who are betting on a primary and a third group, which according to his opinion is immersed in a social crisis and which are the majority. For this reason, he reiterated that the solution lies in changing the political actors.
