In an appearance before the country’s media and the foreign press, the top spokesman for Lápiz urged Maduro to render accounts to a country -in his opinion- impoverished and ruined.
After reiterating that the Executive must reveal, with their first and last names, those involved “in such a scam against the nation,” Ecarri insisted that “these stolen funds could have been used to grant $300 bonuses to the nearly 10 million Venezuelans who make up the State payrolls, among active public employees, retirees and pensioners”.
«At Lápiz our pulse has never trembled to denounce acts of corruption, even those related to both the interim and the leadership of the G4 (…) At Lápiz our pulse has never trembled for having denounced Luis Aquiles Moreno and Tomás Guanipa or any of the party of scoundrels that the MUD has; but today we must also demand that the President of the Republic speak out and tell the country that he spent $3,000 million embezzled from the public treasury,” Ecarri stressed.
In this sense, the political leader questioned the damage done to the country, both by those who do not account for humanitarian aid, Monómeros or Citgo; like those who disappear $3 billion from the National Treasury.
He also rejected that the Minister of Education asks teachers to continue in schools leaving material things aside and receiving $30 per month; when they embezzle a sanctioned and blocked country.
