Antofagasta, O’Higgins, Coquimbo and Araucanía: the regions with the highest Covid-19 positivity in the last week

According to the Minsal pandemic report, of the 9,563 new cases of Covid-19, 5,295 correspond to symptomatic people and 1,662 do not present symptoms. In addition, 2,606 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.

The health authority pointed out that the total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 4,306,995. Of this total, 46,298 patients are in the active stage, while the recovered cases are 4,195,180.

Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 27 deaths from causes associated with the coronavirus. The total number of deceased amounts to 59,800 in the country.

The Government Health portfolio revealed that, according to the sample, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are Antofagasta, O’Higgins, Coquimbo and Araucanía. Meanwhile, he explained that the Atacama region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the regions of Tarapacá, Arica and Antofagasta.

To date, 164 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units in the country, of which 110 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 262 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.

Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 69,866 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 42,478,370 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 13.09% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 11.01%.

Regarding the Sanitary Residences, we have 29 accommodation facilities, with a total of 2,120 beds. The actual occupancy at the national level is 57%, leaving a total of 692 beds available for use.
