The coliseum had a path of honor with photos of the students, from where family members offered their prayers.
In a Eucharist officiated by the auxiliary archbishop of Medellín, Monsignor José Mauricio VélezAntioquia dismissed the 16 students who died in a traffic accident on roads in the municipality of Remedios.
Hundreds of people, including family members, the educational community, the ecclesiastical community and friends, gathered at the Tulio Ospina Coliseumin the municipality of Bello, north of the Aburrá Valley, to pay a collective and posthumous tribute to the 16 students and to bus driver who died in the accident that occurred on the roads of Antioquia.
This last goodbye began with a field mass officiated by Monsignor José Mauricio Vélez, auxiliary archbishop of Medellín, who delivered words of consolation to parents who lost their young children and a message of hope for families who have their loved ones hospitalized.
In his message, the prelate asked for the health of young people who continue to be hospitalized in medical centers, so that they can be reunited with their families very soon.

“At this moment, for your colleagues in the hospital, may God give you the strength to rise to life, may God give you health so that you can return to your homes.”
Then, Julian Peláezstudent of Antioqueño High School and companion of the 16 deceased, delivered a few words of condolence to the family members.

“As a graduate and representative of my classmates, I want to express the deep pain we feel at the departure of the young students. This tragedy has hit us all, because those who are missing today were not strangers to us: they walked the same corridors that we walk, they dreamed of a future that we also imagine.”
In addition to family members and the educational community, this posthumous tribute was accompanied by the Governor of Antioquia, Andrés Julián Rendón Cardona; the first lady of the department, Susana Ochoa; the Mayor of Bello, Lorena González; deputies and senators.
