The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that from Sunday, February 27 to Tuesday, March 1, the anticovid vaccination process will be suspended at the national level, because these dates correspond to the days off for Carnival 2022.

Those lagging behind in the process must go to the vaccination centers starting on Wednesday, March 2. On Saturday, February 26, the service will be given.

Despite the fact that there are mandatory rest days for the celebration of the Carnival, the performance of related activities or activities that generate crowding for these dates will not be allowed.

Since February 20, Panama has assumed the complete vaccination scheme against Covid-19, which establishes the three doses from the age of 16; two doses for ages 12 to 15 years and one dose for ages 5 to 11 years.

According to the Minsa, a total of 7,523,386 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been applied. Of that total, 3,326,114 have been placed in the first dose; 2,919,746 in second dose, 10,496 third doses and 1,267,030 in booster doses.

The coverage of the target population is 83.8% with the first dose; 73.6% with second dose; 47.7% with booster and 29.6% with pediatric doses for children between 5 and 11 years old.
