The Belgium chapter of the Anti-Fascist International issued a statement in which it expressed its most “emphatic support and celebration” before the electoral victory of the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro. The letter maintains that the inauguration of the head of state this January 10 will be a “milestone that reaffirms Venezuela’s commitment to the values of justice, equality and peace.”
In times where fascism, imperialism and Zionism threaten to destabilize and strip nations of their dignity, President Maduro has emerged as a bulwark of resistance, the document reads.
Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy
Furthermore, he salutes the Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy, “which sends a clear message of solidarity to all progressive movements and those who fight against oppression throughout the world.”
He also added that the “re-election of President Maduro is a reflection of the democratic will of the Venezuelan people2. Therefore, it reiterates its “commitment to supporting the struggles of the people of the world and to continuing our battle against all forms of oppression and authoritarianism.”
