Anti-corruption prosecutors support Omar Tello after testimony of Karelim López

“(These statements) would try to destabilize the anti-corruption subsystem and undermine the credibility of the investigations that, in accordance with the Constitution and the law, serious criminal acts that affect the economy and development of our country are being undertaken; since our work has been carried out in strict respect of our autonomy, independence and impartiality”, reads the statement.

In that sense, the prosecutors emphasized that they will continue “with its commitment to continue with the fierce fight against corruptionabove the risks and challenges inherent to their role and despite the difficult budgetary situation that the institution has been going through”.
