In the afternoon of September 27, the 2nd Office of the Northwest Lima Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, under the command of Provincial Prosecutor Manuel Mejía, intervened in the premises of the Municipality of Ventanilla, after opening a preliminary investigation for the alleged use irregular use of State resources during the electoral campaign by officials of the district entity.
During this operation, the Public Ministry team went to the Citizen Security area and proceeded to collect a series of documents that may serve to advance the investigations corresponding to the case and allow it to determine which people could face a process for the crime of embezzlement. .
What is the intervention for?
A complaint filed in “Panorama” revealed that orders had been given from the Municipality of Ventanilla to favor the Contigo Callao movement, to which Pedro Spadaro, current mayor of this district, belongs, who aspires to succeed Pedro López as provincial mayor of Callao.
In particular, two municipal managers and a deputy manager would be involved in the irregularities: Rubén Retamozo, manager of Human Settlements; Fernán Ramírez, manager of Citizen Security; and Brando Herrera, Audit Deputy Manager, who, according to the audios presented by the Sunday program, would have been coordinating actions to benefit Spadaro’s candidacy for months.
Using the political power derived from the management of the Chalaca locality, these officials would have planned the withdrawal of electoral propaganda outside Contigo Callao, in order to make Pedro Spadaro and the members of this political group visible.
Likewise, it was learned that they had deliberately neglected citizen security in Ventanilla, by hindering the work of the serenazgo. The reason? In Fernán Ramírez’s own words: “Clean the field for Spadaro.” That is, present him as the alternative to solve the problem and facilitate his election as provincial mayor.
For his part, Spadaro denied having maintained communication with any official of the Municipality, arguing that he is on leave from his duties as mayor, in addition to denying that any of them is involved in the electoral campaign.
