Anti-chikungunya brigades will intervene in Asunción and Central neighborhoods

The control of environments and the elimination of breeding sites are fundamental multisectoral actions to stop the proliferation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, a transmitter of chikungunya, dengue and Zika.

In this context, the National Malaria Eradication Service (SENEPA) It continues with interventions in neighborhoods of Asunción and in districts of the Central department.

The tentative schedule for this Monday, March 20in morning, afternoon and early morning shifts, with the realization of ambient mingas and focal mists and space, in different neighborhoods of the capital and in the following districts of Central: Capiatá, San Lorenzo, Luque and Fernando de la Mora.

It is highlighted that the activities and coverage areas could undergo modifications according to the epidemiological situation that arises or due to inclement weather.

Citizen collaboration is essential to curb arbovirosis. It is advisable to remove any object that can accumulate water and serve as a breeding ground for mosquitoes. In the same way, it is recommended to use repellent for outdoor activities and, for the interior of homes, mosquito nets and metal mesh on doors and windows.
