Santo Domingo.– The renowned Dominican bachatero Anthony Santos officially recognized the paternity of a son he had with Carmen Josefina Taváres, as reported this Friday by his lawyer, Carlos Balcácer.
The jurist explained that after a process that included waiting almost a month for the arrival of the DNA test results, these were opened in the presence of all the parties involved, confirming the veracity of Mrs. Taváres’ claim.
«That day the sealed envelope arrived and was opened in front of everyone with the result that we all knew. Well, that is, 99.9% paternity,” explained Balcácer, ensuring that the procedure was carried out under the corresponding legal protocols.
The lawyer clarified that the recognition of paternity not only implies the legal acceptance of the bond, but also the responsibility that it entails, and that it is a matter that was resolved with transparency and following the appropriate judicial channels.
In addition, it was explained that some administrative problems arose during the process, related to the registration of the minor in the civil registry, specifically due to the absence of the father’s ID number in some documents.
However, these problems were solved by presenting official copies and correctly processing the corresponding sentence.
Balcácer took advantage of the occasion to clarify certain statements made by Taváres in the media, emphasizing that Anthony Santos never refused to assume his responsibility as a father, but that legal actions had to follow due process to guarantee the correct identification of the minor.
With this recognition, Anthony Santos formally assumes paternity of his son, complying with the corresponding legal and moral obligations, thus closing a process that had generated speculation in public opinion.
