The Foreign Minister of Panama, Janaina Tewaney Mencomo, was received this Wednesday during her diplomatic visit in Washington DC, by the Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken.
During the meeting, Tewaney spoke with his counterpart about regional efforts and initiatives to strengthen democratic institutions, progress, development, and peace in the hemisphere.
According to Tewaney, “Panama has proven with facts that problems can only be resolved through dialogue, and in the regional sphere we continue proactively within the Alliance for Development in Democracy, strengthening these values.”
He also expressed that he stated at the meeting the consequences of environmental degradation that the Darién National Park is suffering, as a result of irregular migration.
