Germán Antelo, former president of the Committee for Santa Cruz, in the 2005-2007 administration, affirmed this Wednesday that the department of cruceño assumes the political leadership of the country, with the fight for democracy, justice and freedomafter the arrest of its governor, Luis Fernando Camacho.
He stressed that the strategy assumed by the Santa Cruz institutions is good, with the attempt to unify the struggle and the call for a national council, on January 25. Likewise, he considers that the rest of the regions should break the silence.
“It is the political weight that reaches the regions that are not only economic leaders, I think we are assuming the political leadership in the country and a citizen awareness has been generated, especially among young people, go against the attempted perpetration of power, the citizens have acquired thatKnowing their rights, they are fighting in the streets in different ways,” he said in an interview with ‘Influyentes’ on EL DEBER Radio.
He stressed that it is necessary for the fight in Santa Cruz to have allies in other departments, because the objectives are healthy. “YouWe have rights and we must demand them, not beg for them, to democracy, to justice, to freedomWe must not allow any absolutist power to impose itself on us and the strategy is good, we must support and prop up”, he said.
He recalled the struggles that were undertaken during his administration, such as the 2005 town hallwhich determined two mandates, the election of prefects and the referendum, to demand departmental autonomy, which resulted in the collection of half a million signatures and the victory of the referendum in 2006, then the one million council in December of that same administration.
“The people of Santa Cruz alone are not going to make things change, the search for allies seems to me a good strategy, the objectives are healthy, There has to be a deeply democratic leader, we don’t need caudillosthe new (civic) leader must be open, participatory and defend our rights, not only control national instances, but things are done well in the municipalities, in the department and continue with the democratic and productive agenda”, he concluded .
