In 2022, Antel had a 5% growth in the number of mobile services sold in the last year and closed with 111,000 more, according to what the president of Antel Gabriel Gurméndez had told El País.

“The 111,000 new mobile services are due to a promotion and publicity plan, and to a drop in prices that Ursec also recognized, which occurred in a context of greater competitiveness generated by portability, the chief said last January.

the rates

Thes rates increased last January after two years without adjustments. The correction was 2% for the prices of fixed charges for mobile telephony contracts, and 2.6% for the prices of fixed telephony and fixed broadband charges.

“It is a figure much lower than the 17% inflation of the two years in which the rates were not adjusted”Gurméndez had pointed out in public statements.

“This is also possible because Antel faces this 2023 with a robust financial situation, exhibiting the highest liquidity in the last 9 years, with US$ 239 million. The figure is also very adequate in terms of what the adjustments of our competitors have been, ”he added on the occasion.

UTE and Ancap

In the case of Ancap, the company will present its results next week. The Ancap group as a whole (with its collateral companies) had registered a profit of US$ 143 million in the accumulated year to September.
