The Antecedent Employment Indicator (Iaemp), calculated by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), grew 1.5 points from August to September this year. It reached 83.8 points, the highest level since October last year (87.1 points).
Iaemp seeks to anticipate trends in the labor market for the coming months, based on interviews with consumers and with entrepreneurs in the industry and services.
According to the FGV, the Iaemp has accumulated an increase of 8.8 points in the last six months. In September, four of the seven components of this indicator increased, with emphasis on the industrial business trend and the forecasted employment indicator in services.
