The appointment was brief but surely very interesting. According to the visit log, Antauro Humala and his lawyer, Carmen Huidobro, announced themselves in the office of the president of the Constitutional Court at 3:55 pm last Monday, October 21. The meeting was until 4:20, according to the check-out. This occurred at the San Isidro headquarters of the Constitutional Court, at 2720 Arequipa Avenue.
“It is a formal meeting that we have had with Dr. Pacheco,” confirms lawyer Carmen Huidobro. “It was an appointment with my sponsor, Antauro, and the president of the Constitutional Court. “It was rescheduled about three times due to the strike.” According to the lawyer, the meeting “was to review a habeas corpus that has been pending for some time, regarding a review that was not processed in the Supreme Court.” Huidobro assures that for “this review he presented new evidence to demonstrate that there had been a state crime in Andahuaylas and that the people of Antauro had not killed any police officers…”. The Supreme Court declared it inadmissible, “and against that inadmissibility a habeas corpus was formulated that has ultimately reached the Constitutional Court.” According to the lawyer, the number of that file in the TC would be 03088-2024-HC.
THE ANTAURUS CASE
Carmen Huidobro denies that the appointment was to discuss the case that the Supreme Court is currently hearing regarding Antauro Humala’s party. “It has nothing to do with it,” says the lawyer. “That interim prosecutor had no legitimacy to act,” he says, alluding to the current former prosecutor of the Nation, Juan Carlos Villena.
As is known, the Supreme Court has left to the vote the future of the legality or illegality of the National Alliance of Workers, Farmers, University Students, Reservists and Workers (ANTAURO), in response to the lawsuit made on July 31 by the Public Ministry , which argues that said organization violates democratic principles.

After the Supreme Court resolves the case of Antauro Humala related to the ANTAURO party, it could reach the Constitutional Court if it were unfavorable for the convicted person and he decided to file an amparo action.

The Constitutional and Social Law Chamber of the Supreme Court evaluated this Monday, October 14, the demand of the Prosecutor’s Office. The case was left to vote. If the illegality of the ANTAURO party is confirmed, this will result in the consequent closure of its party premises and the subsequent disqualification of the citizens who make up its chain of command, starting with Antauro Humala himself.
And in the event of a tie, the president of the Constitutional Court will have the casting vote.
