The contract has a term of 25 years, renewable up to a maximum of 70 years. The current area of the terminal is 423 thousand square meters. But the forecast is that after investments in expansion, which should advance over water, the terminal will reach more than 600 thousand square meters.

Investments, estimated at R$ 3.28 billion, include the construction of a 1.2-kilometer berth, dredging of berthing areas and acquisition of equipment.

The expansion should increase the handling capacity from 330 thousand TEUs to 2.3 million TEUs of cargo as of 2028. Each TEU corresponds to the cargo that a standard maritime container is capable of transporting.

The forecast is that throughout the contract, the new terminal administrator will obtain R$ 27.8 billion in revenues.

The bidding must be based on the highest grant value, that is, whoever offers the highest initial value wins. There is also an amount that must be paid as a monthly lease, which has a fixed part, estimated at R$6.2 million, and another that varies according to the terminal’s handling of R$54.55 per container.

The bid remains under public consultation until Thursday (21), receiving contributions from the antaq page.
