A fatal accident in the Yanacancha camp of the Mining Company Antamina claimed the life of Edwin Colque Calisaya, senior manager of operations, and wounded another collaborator.
The incident occurred when a dump hit and crushed the truck in which the workers moved during their usual work.
The injured was identified as Yorhinio León RoblesDrilling and blasting superintendent, who received immediate medical attention.
The company confirmed Colque’s death and expressed its “More sincere condolences” To his family, ensuring that he will provide comprehensive support at this difficult time.

In a statement, Antamina said that “It has activated the corresponding protocols”including coordination with authorities to investigate the causes of the accident.
In addition, he stressed that he maintains direct contact with the relatives of both employees to guarantee them assistance.
