Through an official statement, the Board of Directors reported the appointment of Luis Santivañez, current Director of Operations, as CEO and General Manager of the company, a position that he will assume as of January 1, 2026.
Santivañez will replace Abraham Chahuan, who will continue to be linked to the company as Advisor to the Board of Directors, thus ensuring an orderly transition in the management of one of the country’s main mining operations.

He is an engineer by profession and has been part of Antamina since July 2025, a period in which he served as Director of Operations, leading key areas of the company’s productive performance.
Before joining Antamina, Santivañez had an outstanding eight-year career at Hudbay Peru, where he held positions of high responsibility, including vice president, General Manager of the Constancia mine and director of Mining Operations, roles from which he promoted operational and strategic improvements.
In his new role as CEO and general manager, Luis Santivañez will have as his main priorities the strengthening of the safety culture, the optimization of operational performance and the development of the strategic pillars that support Antamina’s future growth.
