After receiving a formal complaint about the possible violation of personal data, officials of the National Authority for Transparency and Access to Information (Antai) carried out an inspection this Thursday afternoon at the facilities of the Smart Fit gym located in El Cangrejo.
According to Antai, the complaint was based on the fact that surveillance cameras were installed inside the bathrooms.
Antai stressed that after the complaint, in addition to the inspection, an admission certificate must be drawn up, the complainant presents his defenses, the accused is notified and it is guaranteed that the evidence found is not destroyed.
If the Antai corroborates that there was a crime of violation of privacy, the premises can be fined from one thousand to 10 thousand dollars. Additionally, Antai explained that another type of criminal investigation can be raised due to the sensitivity of the complaint.
