The Honor Colorado movement issued a statement in which it expressed its rejection of the use of the Permanent Civic Registry as a census by the National Agreement. However, from the sector they announced that they will not appeal the resolution of the TSJE.
Given the decision of the Superior Court of Electoral Justice, regarding the use of the Permanent Civic Registry as a census by the National Coalition, the Honor Colorado movement, expressed its defense of the republican model, “a model that stands solid and fundamentally on the political parties”.
Likewise, the movement highlighted as a “fundamental stone” of each political party its registration of affiliates, who obtain said quality freely and voluntarily, duly presenting their consent to integrate it.
The movement therefore “vehemently” rejects the use of the Civic Registry as a standard for the internal elections of the agreement, allowing this situation that people affiliated with the Colorado Party, as well as people constitutionally ineligible to vote in internal elections, such as military and police officers in active service, magistrates and prosecutors, among others, participate in the elections within the agreement.
However, the Honor Colorado movement maintains that it expressly disagrees with the resolution of the TSJE, but respecting its decisions, they recommend that the party authorities not appeal the resolution of the highest electoral tribunal before the Supreme Court of Justice.
It should be remembered that the Colorado ruling party had initially shown the intention of acting against the resolution. However, through the announcement of Vice President Hugo Velázquez, this possibility was reversed.
In Velázquez’s opinion, the decision of the TSJE does not represent “an injury” to the Colorado Party.
