The dispute over control of the National Association of Agricultural Professionals (anpa) worsens and this Wednesday the current president of the entity, Danilo Severinorejected the elections carried out on Tuesday by one of the factions, which gives victory to an agronomist Fausto Tejada.
Severino stated that those elections “They are part of the plans of the current authorities of the Ministry of Agriculture” directed by the agricultural professional Límber Cruz and Freddy Fernández to, allegedly, subvert the institutional order of that entity.
He affirmed that “for the second time they promoted the carrying out of an illegal electoral process because it violates the statutes of the institution,” he maintained and that he also ignores the sentence 504-2022 of the judge of the referrals of the Civil and Commercial Chamber of the National District that he annulled for the same causes the first elections carried out on October 24, 2022, as well as resolutions of the Disciplinary Court of our union that sanctions the main actors responsible for these violations.
“The only purpose pursued by the authorities of the agricultural sector is to silence the voice of our union to put it at the service of their interests and continue the mistreatment and denial of the claims that by law and justice correspond to our professionals”said.
A note indicates that Fausto Tejada, of the Modern Revolutionary Party, won with 78.56 percent of the voters, 1,792 votes, the presidency of the National Association of Agricultural Professionals (anpa). He adds that the union celebrated with great enthusiasm its elections to elect its new Executive Committee and president.
With a total of 55 voting centers nationwide, Tejada, the official candidate for the Trade Union Consensus, obtained the highest percentage of the votes cast; while Andrés Gómez, for the Union Unit, reached 18.19% of the total, 415 votes. 60 invalid votes were counted.
From the early hours of Tuesday morning there was a massive attendance of the agricultural professionals entitled to vote at polling stations throughout the country.
The new authorities that will accompany the president-elect as part of his National Executive Committee and the delegations and sub-delegation were also elected. The elective session was prepared in advance and took place normally throughout the national territory, the note indicates.
