The National Association of Journalists requested the National Police of Peru that the three journalists, natives of the Puno region, be released who were detained while performing their duties according to the intervention of law enforcement officers at the Universidad Mayor de San Marcos on the morning of January 21.
According to what was reported by the association, Paty Condori Huanca, special envoy for Fama TV; Percy Pampamallco Yancachajlla, a reporter for Radio Huancané and Líder TV; and César Huasaca Abarca, a reporter for Radio Sudamericana of Juliaca, were arbitrarily detained inside the university city, where citizens from different regions who were part of the marches that took place in the capital in recent days were being intervened.
