As reported, the financial statements reflected a profit equivalent to US$ 99.6 million.
“The results are a consequence of the management carried out in the period, allowing to achieve an increase in income compared to previous years, without increasing rates and as a consequence of a greater productivity of port services,” they expressed from the ANP.
They indicated that in fiscal year 2022 there was a record of income, reaching US$ 193.7 million.
“This allowed ANP to carry out investments of the order of US$ 83.7 million,” they added; and they thanked “the commitment and effort of ANP officials and the port community that made it possible to achieve these results.”
According to Curbelo, “they have been years of very important investments in the different ports of Uruguay.” And he affirmed: “The objectives were met and the design of our port policy is bearing fruit. We believe that we are on the right path and it is also important to highlight that this budget balance was voted unanimously, that is, the three members of the Board voted in favor of it, so we also understand that as endorsement”.
Curbelo also highlighted the works that are underway, which seek to bet on port decentralization and the intelligent use of infrastructures.
“We have a specialized pulp, bulk and container terminal in the port that in the coming months will begin the largest investment in the history of the Montevideo port, with more than US$ 600 million,” said the president of the ANP and He said that this investment will allow “generating a leap in quality to transform Montevideo into a hub port in the region, a reference in the Río de la Plata.”
He highlighted that in 2022 they achieved 13 meters of dredging and announced that they are working to achieve the goal of 14 meters in the access channel to the port of Montevideo.
“We can convey that the year 2022 was a very good year, according to what was planned and designed. The numbers only reflected what we had said was going to happen and it did happen,” reported Curbelo.
