Another solar complex starts up, the Tucanes solar park

Government advances in the green financing roadmap

Today, Friday, will be inaugurated in the municipality of Santa Rosa de Lima (department of Bolívar), the Tucanes solar park built by the Spanish company Grenergy Renovables. This is the first of a group of photovoltaic projects with a total power of 72 MW, whose production of 140 GWh/year will be enough to give electricity supply from renewable sources to nearly 40,000 homes.

().

In an institutional act, which will be attended by the President of the Republic, Iván Duque, and the Minister of Mines and Energy, Diego Mesa, as well as senior managers from Grenergy, the company will explain the characteristics of the park and delve into its commitment to Colombia as a strategic market of growth for the European company.

“The Energy Transition is a commitment to the planet and to humanity, that is why from the National Government we do not stop at the delivery of projects that make renewable energies the main legacy for the present and future of Colombia. When we arrived in 2018 we only had one solar farm and today we already have 20 with an installed capacity of more than 700 MWp, equivalent to the energy consumption of more than 50,000 families,” said the Minister of Mines and Energy, Diego Mesa.
