The general director of the Nicaraguan Institute of Civil Aeronautics, Carlos Danilo Salazar Sánchez, resigned from his position for unknown reasons, as well as that of adviser to the president of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, the Official Gazette reported Monday.
“The resignation of comrade Carlos Danilo Salazar Sánchez is accepted in the positions of adviser to the President of the Republic for the activities of the Civil Aeronautics sector at the national and international level and general director of the Nicaraguan Institute of Civil Aeronautics”, according to the presidential agreement number 12-2023, published in La Gaceta.

Salazar Sánchez held those positions since August 23, 2018, according to the information.
In his place, President Ortega appointed Mario José Altamirano Díaz as the new director general of the Nicaraguan Institute of Civil Aeronautics, although he did not designate him as his adviser.
Previously, Altamirano Díaz was director of Air Navigation at Civil Aeronautics of Nicaragua. EFE
