A fragmentary grenade was thrown at the El Gran Chaparrón pool, located in the Plaza Vieja sector with Carrera 10, Ureña, on the Táchira-Colombia border, according to police reports obtained unofficially.
The explosive device was launched on Wednesday night by a subject who was traveling on a motorcycle, according to preliminary investigations. No human losses were reported, only material damage to the door and the wall of the commercial establishment.
At the time of the event, only the person in charge of it, Andrea Gómez, a Colombian national, was in the premises.

On May 7, a similar incident occurred when a fragmentary grenade was thrown into the Ezequiel pool, located in the 13 de Abril neighborhood of the aforementioned border town.
On that occasion eight people were injured, who were helped by neighbors. The governor of Táchira, Freddy Bernal, went to Ureña to verify the incidence, attributed to irregular groups.
“No merchant should pay a penny, or silence the intimidation by irregular groups,” declared Bernal.
“We are at war against Colombian paramilitaries,” the governor said, referring to the Colombian organizations Los Rastrojos, Los Urabeños and La Línea, whose members “have unleashed a wave of violence in Norte de Santander against the Colombian Army and Police.”
