Another Nicaraguan migrant dies in a traffic accident in the United States

The Nicaraguan migrant Jaretzi Rodríguez, 18, died on November 12 in a traffic accident in Colorado, United States, the organization Texas Nicaraguan Community (TNC) reported this Thursday.

The young woman is originally from the Ayapal community, located in the municipality of San José de Bocay, in Jinotega, and was five years old after arriving, along with her father, in the United States.

The accident in which Rodríguez died occurred when the young woman’s vehicle collided with another vehicle near Tiger Road, north of Breckenridge, around 5:30 p.m. on November 12, State Patrol agents confirmed. from Colorado, United States, indicated TNC.

Jaretzi Rodríguez, according to TNC, was heading from Breckenridge to Frisco, heading to a relative’s house where he had decided to stay due to the weather conditions that had affected the roads and made it difficult for him to reach the area where his father lives.

“The young woman had called a relative to stay the night at her house, since the weather conditions had affected the roads and driving to where she lived with her father was longer, but she never arrived,” TNC said.

He explained that the other person, who was driving the other vehicle involved in the collision, was taken to a hospital, Rodríguez died at the scene of the accident.

Help to repatriate bodies

The Texas Nicaraguan Community organization explained that the family hopes to repatriate Rodríguez’s body and give a Christian burial to her remains in the land where she was born. Although, he stressed that the information to collaborate with the family will be shared in the next few hours, until they “pass the information.”

The deaths of Nicaraguans in the United States have increased in the last week. Last November 12, TNC also reported the death of pinolero Gustavo Brenes, 34, originally from Bluefields, who was found dead on November 10 inside his apartment in Newark, New Jersey, United States.

Brenes had arrived in the United States two years ago and leaves two minors orphaned. The organization reported that the body of the young Nicaraguan, after being found in his apartment, was transferred to Medical Examiners to determine the causes of his death.
