This was reported by Nelly Patricia Mosquera, former councilor of Bogotá and defender of children in the country, with some evidence.

Through a video, the former deputy showed how girls and adolescents are offered in some areas. Also, women of legal age for all kinds of sexual practices.

Some women and men who pose as tour guides or masseurs would be the leaders of these gangs that commit crimes in Cartagena.

In a recording uploaded by the Háblalo Noticias account, it is observed how people who work on the beaches, sell drugs as well as merchandise, approach.

The rates paid by tourists to obtain these services range between 200 and 900 thousand pesos.

This video was recorded in the end of the year season of 2021.

During the event of the Latin American Summit on Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation, Mayor Dau expressed the following:

“We tell tourists that we actively prosecute cases of sexual exploitation. Anyone who thinks that he is going to come to Cartagena to give free rein to his unbridled sexual appetites has no place in the city, where they are caught they will be prosecuted, “he said.

“We are aware that the authorities have undercover personnel in the operations. The United States also offered help, but this is not just a crime in Cartagena, it transcends borders,” he said.

The Cartagena mayor’s office estimates that more than 125,000 visitors come to the Bolivarian capital during the Easter season, which is why they have set off the alarm to prevent children and adolescents from being sexually exploited.

It should be noted that at the end of 2021 and in an interview with Camila Zuluaga, Mayor Dau expressed his concern about this scourge:

The authorities have announced that a total of 21 people have already been captured for this type of crime.
