The body of another victim of the collapse of the bridge between Aguiarnópolis (TO) and Estreito (MA) was rescued this Sunday (29). To date, ten people have died. Another seven remain missing.
The lieutenant colonel of the Tocantins Fire Department, Donaldo Lourinho, confirmed to Brazil Agency the recovery of the body of Ailsson Gomes Carneiro, aged 57. He was a councilor in the city of Novo Repartimento, in Pará, and was removed from a Triton truck, found last Thursday (26). This Saturday (28), divers had already rescued Elisangela dos Santos Chagas, 50 years old, Ailsson’s companion.
Teams continue their attempts to remove a body located inside a truck.
Weather conditions have worsened in the last few hours, as rain in the region makes the waters of the Tocantins River more turbid.
The search for those missing after the collapse of the Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira Bridge, on BR-226, was resumed yesterday, after the risk of collapse of new sections of the structure had been ruled out. The bridge collapsed last Sunday (22).
