Another 3 miners boarded up after mine collapse in El Callao

Less than a month after the fateful event where 13 miners died After the collapse of the 4 Esquinas mine in El Callao, on the morning of this Tuesday, November 4, three miners were boarded up after the cylinder or well where they were working in the Caratal sector collapsed.

The mine, which is located just 20 meters from where the previous event occurred, according to local witnesses, was completely covered by sand resulting from a landslide and the fragile terrain.

Rescue teams from the Venezuelan Mining Corporation (CVM), firefighters from Minerven and El Callao are at the scene of the accident carrying out different maneuvers to find the whereabouts of the three victims.

The victims’ co-workers affirm that the miners remain alive, so they quickly joined the rescue efforts of their acquaintances.

The victims were identified as Ronger and Yerluis Montilla and the third is still unidentified. The rescuers supply them with oxygen through the pipe that was installed before the collapse, which confirms the hypothesis of the companions who remain alive.
