The Comptroller’s Office warned of construction deficiencies in the execution of the improvement work of the Almirante Miguel Grau Public Technological Higher Education Institute, whose investment exceeds S/ 131 million, for which reason it requested the prompt adoption of actions to the Regional Public Education Institutes Executive Unit.
During the physical inspection visits, deficiencies were found in some constructions, such as the bases for machinery, equipment and tool benches, which have cracks. These concrete benches are structures designed to support and provide a stable base for the safe performance of precise machining operations. Therefore, their purpose is to absorb the vibrations inherent to this equipment and reduce unwanted oscillations.
A deformation was detected in the cross section of columns in a section of the toilets on the 2nd floor, due to the fact that the formwork had not been installed correctly.

The lack of vertical supports in the railing installed on the second floor was evident, which does not have sufficient structural rigidity. Without adequate vertical supports, the crossbars can become unstable.
This would cause unwanted movements and even partial collapses of the railing, representing a risk to people’s safety.
Deficiencies that have not been noticed by the supervision generate a possible adverse consequence for the entity of S/ 20,600 for non-application of penalties, since the contract contemplates this charge for poorly executed contractor work, that is, when the minimum technical requirements and specifications of the technical file are not met.
