The annual increase in prices as of February 2022 was 8.01%. This was announced by the National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane), which delivered the results of the variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
According to the statistical entity, in the second month of 2022 the figure stood at 1.63%, which led to annual inflation to the figure of 8.01%, significantly higher than that of the previous year that was at 1, 56%.
In addition, this data was above the average of market expectations, since analysts considered that the variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) could reach 7.64%.
For the monthly data, analysts expected an average inflation of 1.29%.
